Learn to Fly!

The Rochester Air Center is Upstate New York's leader in flight instruction and aviation services. The company is located at the Rochester International Airport and no one knows the area better than we do. We offer extensive Part 61 and Part 141 flight instruction for all levels of skill and experience, as well as charters and other pilot services.

JCC Professional Piloting Degree

This degree program prepares students to enter the field of aviation as a professional pilot. Students successfully completing the program will have earned the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifications of Private and Commercial Pilot, with Instrument Rating, and be a Certified Flight Instructor-Airplane.

All instruction occurs under Part 141 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Students may also elect to obtain the multi-engine and the Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument ratings. Graduates may choose to work as a Certified Flight Instructor which will allow them to log the same hours as their students, earn pay, and not pay airplane rental fees.

Students planning to work for the commercial airlines are encouraged to earn a four-year degree.

Post 9/11 and Montgomery GI Bill Flight Training

RAC is proud to support those who have served and are currently serving our country.

We understand the unique needs of providing flight training to our service members utilizing VA benefits. Our trained staff is well versed in assisting veterans to deal with all of the applicable documents and training course requirements.

Effective October 1st, 2011, veterans eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill are able to use $10,000 per academic year for Flight Training (cost of living adjustments increase yearly limits). An academic year lasts from August 1 to July 31. All Flight Training except Private Pilot is covered (Private Pilot is covered in the JCC professional pilot college program).
